Flare Gas

Flare Gas

Problem

When a company drills for oil it will sometimes encounter associated gas, or gas that is either dissolved in the oil or that forms a cap above the oil. When there is no nearby infrastructure to develop this gas it is often flared, or burned to relieve pressure. This act of burning not only is wasteful, but leads to significant greenhouse gas emissions and the company must pay fines. As of 2007, the World Bank estimated that $30 billion worth of gas is still being flared annually.

Dason Arrow

Dason's Proposed Solution

Dason's technology offers a way for oil and gas companies in these regions to turn a wasteful and expensive practice into a revenue stream instead by converting the gas onsite to useful liquid products that can be easily shipped directly to markets. Thanks to the small size and capital requirements of Dason's technology, it can be effectively used at the drilling site. When a site's gas resources are depleted, the mobility of the reactor allows it to be easily taken apart, transported, and reassembled.
